The draw of renting a holiday cottage somewhere other than by the sea is strong, especially for those who want a more calm waterside setting rather than crashing waves and bracing sea winds.
Our comfortable canal-side holiday cottage is based in our boatyard and is an ideal place to relax and watch beautiful canal boats cruise by. The cottage is 150 years old and offers plenty of room for you and your family to relax and chill for a short break or a longer holiday throughout the year.
We can accommodate up to 11 family members across six bedrooms, so if you are planning a large family get-together or want to celebrate a special milestone, wedding anniversary, reunion or birthday, then our Waterside Cottage is the perfect place for you!
It can be fascinating to watch the day to day activities of our working boatyard and the comings and goings of our holiday canal boats. Even if you don't fancy taking to the water yourself, you can still enjoy spending time by the water and watching the local wildlife like herons, ducks and kingfishers along with the boats, canoes and paddle boarders.
Leighton Buzzard town centre is only a short 20-minute walkway if you fancy a walk into town. You can visit the high street market and shops and take in a meal or drink at one of the many local restaurants or coffee shops.
Our Waterside Cottage is ideally positioned on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, if you prefer exploring the countryside rather than visit the town, you will have access to excellent walks in the Chiltern Hills.
There are also plenty of National Trust properties and gardens nearby to visit if you want to indulge in a bit of history and some historic sights.
After a day out exploring the town or countryside, you can come back to your comfortable holiday cottage and chill out in the private back garden or the front terrace overlooking the canal and watch the sun go down over the Ouzel valley park.
Our Waterside Holiday Cottage is a great place when you want to stay somewhere different. However, once you have stayed in our cottage, we are sure you will be keen to return. Many returning guests love spending a long weekend or a short break by the water.
Our comfortable Waterside Cottage sits in a spectacular position overlooking the canal and has sweeping views of the waterway and surrounding countryside. The front terrace is a perfect spot to sit outside on a warm evening to sip on a cool glass of wine.
If you are visiting during the colder months, you will be kept warm and cosy indoors with our wood burner. The cottage has full gas central heating, so you won't feel the winter chill.
Full gas central heating and electricity are all included in the price Should you wish to use the log burner we have logs available at a small charge.
The cottage has direct access to the canal-side frontage and gardens. If you are a keen fishing enthusiast you can bring your own rods as long as you have a national rod license. You cannot fish at the boatyard but only have to walk through the garden gate to access the water for fishing.
